Terms of service

Last updated July 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of BookRails. In short: you subscribe monthly, you own your content and your customer relationships, we never publish on your behalf without your approval, and we cannot guarantee that any AI assistant will cite your business.

Agreement and eligibility

By using BookRails you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 and authorised to act for the business you register. "We" and "us" mean BookRails; "you" means the account holder.

What BookRails provides

BookRails is software that publishes your business information as machine-readable answer pages, lists your business in an aggregator MCP server that AI assistants can search, accepts bookings against your connected calendar, and reports on citations and bookings.

Subscription, billing, and cancellation

BookRails is a month-to-month subscription billed in advance through Stripe. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice, effective at your next renewal. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period; there is no annual lock-in.

No guarantee of AI citation or ranking

AI assistants and search engines decide independently what to cite and recommend. BookRails improves how discoverable and machine-readable your business is, and reports what we observe — but we do not control any third-party model or engine, and we do not guarantee that your business will be named in any answer, achieve any ranking, receive any number of bookings, or generate any level of revenue. Any figures shown in our marketing are illustrative.

AI-generated content and your approval

BookRails drafts content using AI models. Drafts may contain errors, and you are responsible for reviewing them. Nothing is published to an external channel without your explicit approval — we do not auto-post on your behalf. You are responsible for ensuring published content is accurate, lawful, and compliant with the rules of any platform it is published to.

Bookings are between you and your customer

BookRails facilitates bookings; it is not a party to them. You are solely responsible for delivering the booked service, for your own pricing, cancellation, refund, and deposit policies, and for any dispute with a customer. Deposits are collected through Stripe under your policy and settled to you.

Your content and your data

You retain ownership of your business information, your published content, and your customer relationships. You grant us a licence to host, format, and publish that content solely to operate the service. You can export or delete your data at any time.

Acceptable use

You must not use BookRails to publish false, misleading, or unlawful information, to impersonate another business, to publish fabricated reviews, to interfere with the service, or to attempt to access another customer's data. We may suspend accounts that do.

Our intellectual property

The BookRails software, brand, and documentation remain ours. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate the service for non-payment, breach of these terms, or where required by law. On termination, your published BookRails pages are removed and your data is available for export for a limited period.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for lost profits or lost bookings. Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law and changes

We may update these terms and will revise the date above; material changes will be notified by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

TODO: set governing law and dispute-resolution venue before launch.
