Cookie policy

Last updated July 25, 2026

BookRails uses a small number of cookies: strictly necessary ones to keep you signed in, first-party analytics to attribute bookings, and Stripe's cookies during payment. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell cookie data.

Which cookies do we set?

The service uses these categories:

  • Strictly necessary — Supabase authentication cookies (names beginning sb-) keep you signed in and protect your session. These cannot be disabled while you are using an account.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga and _ga_*) measure aggregate traffic and page performance across the site.
  • Attribution — first-party analytics on hosted booking pages record which referrer, including which AI assistant, led to a page session, so a booking can be traced back to its source. This is the receipt trail.
  • Payment — where a deposit is required, Stripe sets its own cookies (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) on Stripe's domain to process the payment and detect fraud.

What we do not do

We do not use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not sell or share cookie data with ad networks.

How do you control cookies?

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
